Ballet for Healing
PBDT has Partnered with Center for Empowerment for Families to provide classes to teens that were homeless and sexually trafficked, currently living in detention halls or group homes. ” Ballet For Healing ” began in January 2017 with a pilot group in Los Angeles Juvenile Hall’s Hope Center Facility. Girls ages 13-17 experience the benefits of healing through movement therapy that was uplifting and valuable to their mental and physical health. Their families, peers groups, and staff attended a recital of completion in their honor. Mentors continue to support their continuance of these skills learned, through follow-up visits after placement.
